The text of this illumination is a poem written by J. Todd Ferrier, published in The Herald of the Cross, Vol. VIII, pp. 117-119. It is a vision of a Soul looking back over many ages and incarnations, realising the profundity of Eternal Life. The upper panels depict the adoration of God by Angels and Archangels. The centre panel contains over a dozen exquisite miniatures depicting scenes associated with the spiritual history of Western Civilization.
