Easter - a Soul Festival

Easter is the supposed anniversary of the coming forth of the Master, known as Jesus, from the Sepulchre, and the proclamation by the Angels to His sorrowing friends that He had indeed arisen from the dead.

But the real Easter is something very different from, and infinitely more exalting for every one than the arising out of an earthly tomb. It is the arising of the Soul above all earthly limitations, and the ascension into the Atmosphere of the Heavens of the whole Being. For the true Resurrection is the bursting forth into beautiful bloom of all the desires and feelings of our Heart and the noble thoughts of our Mind; just as the plants do when Springtime comes round after the dark and cold of Winter.

The great lesson of Easter-time is thus acquired and understood when we recognize it to imply the renewing, reviving and re-empowering of all our wonderful Soul Gifts from the FATHER-MOTHER. For thus it becomes in us that when we arise and realize these Blessings, the LORD hath risen indeed for us, through His arising within our Mind, Heart, Soul and Spirit.

Easter day is a Soul’s day, not a merely historical day commemorated. “Christ the Lord is risen today.” That is the song sung on Easter. Will Christ the Lord be risen within the Churches? Is He risen within the consciousness of those who believe such things? Christ the Lord is risen within a Soul when the Day breaks for it. It is the Lord of Being bringing the Soul into the consciousness of His Presence through the holy estate of Jesus – the life of love, of compassion, of beautiful ministry; and Christhood – the life illumined from Him.

Christ within is then no longer veiled, but revealed. For the Christ within each one of us is the central point of our Being. And that is luminous by nature. It is ever luminous when it is acted upon from the Divine Realm. It is the miniature expression of the Luminous Cross of the Heavens. And the unveiling of that Cross is the taking away of the Night of the Soul, which lies upon it, hiding from the Soul’s own vision the Blessed Presence overshadowing it and dwelling in the very centre of its sanctuary. For the Christ within each one of us is the central point of our Being. And that is luminous by nature. It is ever luminous when it is acted upon from the Divine Realm.
