The Vision of the Lord
I saw the Lord:
He was enthroned on High, and His Glory filled the Temple.
Around the Throne stood the Seraphim:
Each of them had six Wings:
With twain each covered his Face;
With twain he covered his Feet;
And with twain he did fly.
And each unto the other thus spake in song:-
Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord of Hosts;
The Heavens are full of His Glory;
And the fulness of the Earth also manifests His Glory.
The Veils dividing the Thresholds moved, for the Voice of Him from within the Sanctuary spake;
And the Temple was filled with His Radiance.
Because of the G1ory of the Vision, I was as one who is overwhelmed;
For I felt as if my praise of Him were uttered by unclean lips, and that I dwelt amongst a people whose ways were of the unclean;
For I had looked upon the King, the Lord of the Heavenly Hosts.
Then flew unto me one of the Seraphim:
In his hand he bore the Sacred Flame, which in appearance was as a Glowing Stone;
From out the Fire upon the Altar had he taken it;
With it he touched my Lips, and spake:-
Behold! Behold! The Mystery of His Love!
It is thine to know; for it hath touched thee and made thee whole.
Then, from within the Sanctuary, spake the Lord;
The sound of His Voice was as when many waters meet;
And He said unto the Hosts of the Heavens :- Who will go down for us? Whom shall we send?
And my Being was uplifted unto Him, and I spake, saying, Send me! Send me!
And He said, Go then to the People as the Servant of the Lord.
