PACIFISM: Taught by the Master to His Disciples
He taught them to be true Pacifists, not only in a political and national sense, but in their whole Being.
A true Pacifist does not oppose the Authorities. That does not mean that he becomes their slave, or subject to that which is wrong, but it does mean that the Life is the manifestation.
The Master never opposed the Governing Bodies. He lived the Life which was a rebuke to them, but He did not speak rebuke.
Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar’s. In our Citizenship we should he prepared to share
the Nation’s burden where it does not violate our principles. The way to redeem the State is not that of buffeting or contending against it. The Divine method is to reveal to it the true way of Life. We must impress upon it the Purity of our ways, the Gentleness of our judgements, our Tenderness in attitude and actions, the Majesty of our bearing, and great Lowliness of mind and heart in our manifestation. Our life must show forth Love overcoming all things. Do not oppose those appointed to govern. Live the Life which in itself testifies of the Kingdom to which you belong. Let them behold the Kingdom making itself manifest through you.
Pacifism is the spirit that breathes beautiful peace on all planes, within every atmosphere, and that blesses those who impose hurt and that prays for those who despitefully make use of your name, or who persecute you.
To bless even your enemies is to break down barriers. It is to move mountains, great obstacles. It is to have faith in GOD by which these obstacles, called mountains, may be removed.
Do not enter into conflict with anyone, with any community, with any people, with any race. Seek to shed upon them the Peace we would carry in our Being.
